The next stop in my exploration of Teatulia’s lovely teas was at Masala Chai. To be frank, my past experiences with Chai tea have been somewhat limited and a bit unsatisfactory. That wasn’t the case here, however. Teatulia’s landed on a brilliant recipe with this blend.
This Masala Chai has a very interesting aroma and flavour. The aroma is exotic and inviting with discernable notes of cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. The flavour is rich and well balanced. There’s a blend of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger root, black pepper, and cloves with this black tea that make it a very enjoyable treat. This blend is good as is, and also when sweetened with a little sugar.
One thing I would recommend with this tea: because of the ginger, don’t allow it to steep too long . Ginger is a temperamental flavour that, left unattended, will spoil the cup by overwhelming the other flavours.
You can find this beautiful tea on Teatulia’s website. At the time of this review, they appear to only have a bulk pyramid bag version available. If I see other options become available I’ll update this post.
Bottom line: delicious Chai tea! Definitely recommended.
