So I tried another fascinating green tea powder from Teas Unique recently, now, what is this Jeju Island Ceremonial Grade Organic Green Tea Powder like? Firstly I noticed the vibrant colour. It looks freshly verdant. The aroma is nutty and fresh, strongly vegetal.
I prepared this green tea powder using a half a teaspoon with 6oz of water, which is half of the amount given in the recommended brewing instructions. I did so because my past experience with matcha tells me that this amount is ideal for my taste preferences – I prefer matcha a bit lighter. The water was approximately 80 degrees Celcius.
After whisking I observed the liquor had a beautiful deep emerald green hue. The aroma is a little bit almondy and foresty. Heavily vegetal and grassy, and there’s also a touch of floral. This is a fresh and refreshing bowl of matcha. This is quite unique to other green tea powders I’ve tried, and I’d definitely recommend it to matcha aficionados.
